Five emerging brands across functional food, beverage, and supplements have been named to Track 7 of BeyondCPG's Manhattan-based accelerator, the program's seventh consecutive cohort since launch. The 12-week, in-person curriculum began this month and concludes with a Showcase Pitch Event in January 2027, where founders will present to mission-aligned investors, retail buyers, and industry operators.
The five selected brands are Batch Balanced, Cabu Latte, Engineered Nutrition, Goldholly, and Underdog—representing the functional beverage, nutraceutical, and better-for-you CPG segments that have driven sustained growth in natural products retail.
The Program Structure
BeyondCPG is powered by BeyondBrands, the collective co-founded by serial entrepreneurs Eric Schnell and Marci Zaroff, whose combined portfolio spans decades of food, beverage, and nutraceutical brand creation, scaling, and exit. Schnell, who serves as Cofounder and Executive Director, described the program's value proposition as delivering "real-world playbooks, investor-ready strategies, and operator-led mentorship" to founders who typically wouldn't access that guidance until later stages of growth.
The curriculum covers brand architecture, investment strategy, channel strategy, supply chain, regulatory and legal frameworks, product innovation, and pitch presentation—competencies that are particularly consequential for supplement and functional food founders navigating structure-function claim compliance, finished formulation decisions, and co-manufacturing relationships. Track 7 sponsors include NielsenIQ, ePac Flexible Packaging, Polsinelli Law Firm, Giannuzzi Lewendon, Wayflyer, Withum, ForceBrands, and Naturally New York, providing cohort brands with access to data, packaging, legal, and capital resources from day one.
Why This Cohort Matters
For the functional nutrition industry, accelerator programs like BeyondCPG's represent a meaningful pipeline for the next generation of ingredient-forward brands. Early-stage founders in the supplement and functional food space face compounding challenges: demonstrating bioavailability and efficacy to skeptical retail buyers, navigating NDI notification requirements, and building supply chains capable of scaling standardized extracts or probiotic CFU counts without compromising label claims. Structured mentorship that addresses these operational realities alongside brand and investor strategy can materially compress a brand's timeline to shelf.
The natural and organic products channel continues to attract early-stage capital, with better-for-you food and beverage launches accelerating across GLP-1-adjacent weight management, adaptogens, gut health, and clean-label reformulation. Cohorts that graduate with refined go-to-market strategies and vetted investor decks are increasingly competitive for placement in specialty and natural retail. Operators looking to identify emerging ingredient platforms or white-label partners would do well to track the January 2027 Showcase Pitch Event as a signal of where the next wave of functional CPG is heading.
