New Product Taps into Converging Matcha and Protein Trends Polar Joe, the functional protein coffee brand, has launched Molto Matcha, an unsweetened, instant protein matcha designed to deliver 20 grams of premium protein in a single serving. The product arrives as consumer interest in matcha reaches record highs. Google Trends data shows search interest for "matcha powder" climbing from a normalized value of 37 in December 2024 to 92 in August 2025—an increase of nearly 150% in roughly eight months. Overall matcha search interest grew approximately 65% year-over-year heading into 2026, while the global protein matcha drinks category is projected to nearly double, from $1.2 billion in 2025 to $2.3 billion by 2034.
Product Details and Positioning Molto Matcha is made with pure-grade matcha tea and formulated to what Polar Joe describes as gold-standard protein purity standards. Like other Polar Joe products, it is virtually lactose-free—one cup of milk contains 120 times the lactose of a single serving of Polar Joe. The product is part of Polar Joe's Café Series, a line designed for smaller shelf footprint and consumer-friendly pricing. Molto Matcha contains 20 servings at $48.99, or $2.45 per serving. "Molto answers the matcha drinkers who want it the way they'd order it at a café: pure, rich, and full of flavor," said Darcy Haggith, founder and CEO of Polar Joe. "It gives them 20 grams of premium protein and the pure-grade matcha taste they already love, ready in about 30 seconds."
Availability Molto Matcha is now available at PolarJoe.com.
